Dear Raleys Superstore Manager,

My name is Malik Robinson, and I am a freshman at Merced High School and a member of the Merced FFA Chapter.

This year, I am raising my first market rabbit as a livestock project. Through this experience, Ive learned responsibility, dedication, and the importance of agriculture through daily care and hard work.

I am reaching out to ask if you would consider supporting my project through sponsorship or by purchasing my rabbit at the Merced County Fair Livestock Auction on Saturday, June 13, 2026 (auction begins at 9:30 a.m.).

Your support would help me continue growing in FFA and take on future agricultural projects.

It would also mean a lot to know that members of our community support students like me.

Thank you for your time and consideration. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at MRobinson711713@***.com or (209) 261-****.

HORRIBLE STORE HORRIBLE COMPANY

  • Security followed them and accused them of stealing.

It’s being investigated

Original review updated Feb 26, 2025
I wish we didnt have to give any stars; they dont even deserve 1. So here it goes: my 15-year-old daughter and I have gone to this store a few times, and every time we go into the store, were followed by security, so one night we were in there, and we had stopped in the health and beauty medicine area.

Well, I had gone in there to get. A yogurt that they carry well, they didnt have any, so I asked a gentleman when they would be getting some more. He was rude and said he didnt know; check back another day so we get our items, we check out, we get to the door to leave, and he refuses to let us out and tells us to give back what we took from the aisle. I cant remember what aisle, but I kind of looked at him strange, and then he said, Give back what you guys just stole, and I told him we didnt steal anything.

I opened my purse to show him. We didnt take anything. I had bought a travel-size deodorant that I had put in my purse after I paid for it, and he asked me, Is that what I stole? I showed him the receipt and said once again, We haven't stolen anything, so he told us we were over by the health and beauty and medicine aisle for a very long time.

Mind you, my purse was in the cart the whole time; my daughter was pushing the cart, and he could've reviewed the cameras to see we didn't steal anything, but he proceeded to accuse us of stealing, so finally I got mad and told him, We didn't steal anything; now open the door and let us out, so he finally did, and we were kind of arguing back and forth. A security in the parking lot pulled up and asked what was going on, a very nice lady, and I told her what happened. She told me that because I have a big purse, thats why he accused me of stealing. She said anybody that comes in there with a big purse or a backpack automatically gets accused of stealing, and I told her thats discrimination, thats stereotyping, and I even opened my purse to show her.

We didnt take anything; I even told her she could search if she wanted to; she told me that thats not necessary. She believed me, so I called their corporate to let them know what happened. I called once, still didn't get a response, called twice, and still didnt get a response. Call the third time; still didnt get a response, so I have decided to go forward with a lawsuit, and if theres anyone else that has experienced this at their store, please get in contact with me.

You can leave me a message on here, or you can go to Yelp to my review on there and leave me a message. My attorney is more than happy to hear your story and help you in any way he can. By the way, the guy that accused us is a MANAGER SMH; his name is JUAN.Update: Still no response from this company, so that shows they *** this kind of behavior from their employees to treat their customers this way. I guess after a lawsuit, maybe it will wake them up that you can't treat people like this, especially people who did absolutely nothing wrong.

The cameras in the store show we didn't do anything. Just because I have a big purse doesn't mean I'm a thief or I'm stealing.
Cons:
  • Security will follow you you will be accused of stealing
  • You will be locked in the store for no reason
  • Corporate doesnt care

Preferred solution: Juan to loose his job so he can’t treat anyone else the way he treated us no one should have to be treated the way we were or feel how we felt

User's recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE

Wrong Attorneys don’t take cases off feelings they take cases off FACTS & LAWS

Guest

You can sue for emotional duress, defamation and false imprisonment, BUT, you need to consider if any attorney would be willing to take your case, what the duration of the lawsuit would be, how strong your case is and whether the benefits outweigh the cons (costs to sue, court appearances, etc).

Use of plastic items in the store

AI Highlights
  • Long-time customer asks Raleys to stop plastic trays in stores; believes owners are intelligent and aware of plastic harm.

I am a long time customer and I have been hoping Raleys would discontinue using plastic trays or styrofoam trays. I am positive the owners are aware of the dangers of plastic on mother earth, especially the mass of plastic the size twice the size of Texas floating in our oceans.

Or that humans have particles in their bodies, including babies. Or migratory birds cannot fly their routes do to the weight of plastic in their bodies. I believe that the Raleys owners are intelligent and educated and that they have higher interests and not just the bottom line of profit.

Please remove the use of plastic in your stores. We didn't have plastic in the 40's & 50' and we can do it again.

My intention was merely to let Bel Air know that I was surprised that they only had one courtesy clerk working that day. Ive never seen that before, Usually there have been several clerks working who can carry out the groceries.

User's recommendation: I love the parking at this store, but half of the time, they lock the main door, so you have to go in and out the same door. Plus, they always seem to be short staffed. This incident is evidence of that.

No, your post was only evidence that you act entitled. You could not wait and threw a tantrum.

You never did say who was carrying the two heavy items out of your car once home.

Now you decline to state how the company resolved the issue. Do better.

Mykayla Jwq

You are an entitled, bratty senior. You do know that by law the employee is required ton take a lunch break right?

Not only that but as for your complaining that they went to the customer behind you. Well, guess what, you are not more important than he or she is. GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE.

They are just as Important as you are. I think by compassion you meant that you wanted the employee to have his lunch break interrupted and you wanted the customer behind you to not be attentended to because you think you are "special" Well, you spoiled brat, what about compassion for the employee who wants to have lunch, or the person behind you?

Guest

You should have taken the person that is carrying the two packages from your car (once at home) with you to shop and assist you. You are not the only shopper.

If you could not wait, that is all on you. They won’t miss you.

Here’s the thing. The police don’t enforce parking on private property.

So they would never be the ones to call. Someone in the store called. They just aren’t and are under no obligation to tell you that.

By your own admission here, you parked there for many days to avoid paying hospital parking. You lost any case you’re contemplating before it even starts.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2687846

Here's the thing. He already said the police didn't have it towed, the store manager did.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2687888

So here’s the thing. OP has edited his post many times now. Until this last variation of his post, one of his points of contention was only the police can call for a tow truck.

Guest

If I read your garbled complaint correctly, the store manager waited 5 days before having it towed. I would be most concerned with the tow company lying and saying they didn't have it, when they did.

Why is your car still with the towing company? Everyday that passes is more money you owe to get it out. If you can afford an 80k car, surely you can afford to have retrieved it by now?? If you can afford lawyers and lawsuits, you can surely afford to get your car back.

What is the relevance of your car being worth 80k?

Does the towing company charge different fees, according to the value of the car or something? I've never heard of that!

Guest

he also said that he wouldd tow it next time since i parked there illegally but it is a public place and i can park there, i did not park at hospital because they charge for parking, he said that since i am not a customer i am doing it illegal and the parking was for customers only, but there were many places empty. he did itto be mean because he is a evil snake.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2687642

You are incorrect. Any management personnel of that Raley’s can call to have a car towed.

The lot has public access but is considered private property. The store is paying the landlord for use of the building and the lot. As such, towing decisions are up to management. The hospital is also considered private property as is it’s parking.

Towing isn’t restricted to just parking that carries a fee. In the end your scam to avoid paying hospital parking cost you more than what the parking would have been.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2687642

The complaint says the store manager had it towed. At this point, I feel like a troll may be responding to comments and not the person whose car got towed.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2687892

OP has edited his post many times. Until today his post even stated the car was there for five days because he did not want to pay hospital parking.

As points are made in comments, his post keeps getting edited. Another point he tried to make was only the police can call for a tow.

Someone commented police don’t enforce parking on private property and now that statement is gone from his initial post. Others may comment pretending to be OP, but only OP can edit his post.

How many ways is the consumer supposed to activate some savings coupons for this store? The old 'something extra' savings seemed to work just fine but now one needs to let them know what items i'm interested in saving money on before I shop and somehow 'activate' these just to find out (at the register) that they don't qualify? I'm DONE with Raley's!!!

  • Online order was ready, but staff asked for the credit card at pickup.

Updated by user Apr 07, 2025

I understand that we are to read the terms and conditions but how am I to bring a credit card that’s a virtual card. And this was told to that department.

Mind you every other time I was never asked to bring my card. Either keep it one way or the other.

Original review updated Apr 06, 2025
I am filing a complaint in regard to the *** Hill in Martinez, California. I want to explain to you that the service they provide is unacceptable.

I will run down and explain to you what happened. I had placed an order through the app as I've done before many times. We had a bigger order today for pickup because we're having a huge retirement party. They told me the order was ready.

I sent my husband down to pick up the order. We dont live close by, but this is the closest Raley Nob Hill grocery store, so he goes down there to attempt to pick up his order, and they ask him for the credit card. Had they told us we needed to bring our credit card to begin with, we wouldnt have come without it, but they already authorized the amount, and when we're picking up our items, they decided to indicate that we need to give them our credit card. Now we have to go somewhere else to purchase our food for our retirement party.

It's totally set us back on what we have to do today for our retirees. Mind you, this is for an old people's home, and the fact that they are giving us issues like this is totally wrong.

I could understand if my card was never charged, but it was charged. What makes matters worse is that they are holding a amount on my credit card that will not be released for a few days this is totally unacceptable.

User's recommendation: Do not shop there unfair unjust and waste time

Read their terms of service YOU agreed to. They reserve the right to ask for ID and/or credit card.

It is ridiculous to have gone without it regardless. Also, no need to drone on about what, why and who the order was being purchased for.
